Geneva is easily accessible by plane or train:
By plane: make sure you get to Geneva Cointrain (GVA) airport! Zurich is too far away and trains will cost more.
From Cointrain airport, take the train to Geneva Cornavin station (+/- every 12min).
The airport’s website says, that you can pick up a free ticket for public transport from the machine in the baggage collection area at the Arrival level. This Unireso ticket, offered by Geneva International Airport, allows you to use public transport in Geneva free for a period of 80 minutes.
Form the train station (Cornavin), please continue as folllows:
By train: from the train station (Geneva Cornavin): take bus 27 (bus timetable), direction “Malagnou”, get off at “Rieu”, next to the promenade Charles Martin. It takes 15 minutes.
